687

I'm going to be brief. I've already worked almost 30 hours this week and it's only Wednesday. But thus is the life sometimes of a QC chemist.

I missed posting the donation of three scrap yarn hats in April (probably because I had just moved back to Maryland or was days away from moving).

Here are the pics of the three hats from April and seven items donated in December 2016:

Items:
-4 hats
-1 earwarmer
-2 knitted cowls (both scrap yarn)

Cheers!

677

Hi, all. I just accepted a job in Maryland so I will be moving back very soon. In the meantime, I'm trying to whittle down my yarn stash so that I have less to ship back. This turns into hats and mittens and donations to Jee Jee at ARC. Here are the latest:

Donated items:
-16 hats
-2 knitted hats

-2 pairs of adult mittens

-1 pair of child's mittens

Those of you who are mathematically inclined may have noticed that I donated 21 items above but my total increased by 22. The extra item was a hat that I gave to a woman I met at a knitting group in Columbia, MD. She makes and collects handmade hats for children at a local elementary school. One less cold head.

Cheers!

Second Knee Surgery

Today I had the second knee surgery for the ACL injury from last June. Over the last seven months, physical therapy has been trying to get the range of motion back into my leg. In the last three months, there has been no change. I couldn't straighten the knee all the way or bend it all the way. It hurt to stand (to the point where I would lean on the other leg most of the time) and it hurt to walk, every step.

Today my surgeon went back into the knee and removed scar tissue adhesions that had developed including one called a cyclops lesion. Now, I'm my surgeon's second patient ever to develop one after an ACL reconstruction.

In the meantime, I resigned from job in Texas. I was missing home too much. I'm going to move back to Maryland in the coming weeks.
